Good Intentions Network (GIN)

How to Live Sustainably

GIN is a roadmap & guide which shows you how to live sustainably through individual and holistic actions. It is important to remember that no one is perfect and the goal is to constantly learn and change.

GIN defines “being a good person” and “living sustainably” as: lifestyles which enable meeting the UN SDGs within the Planetary Boundaries.

The motivation to create the Good Intentions Network (GIN) was:

  • we need to urgently find balance between the needs of both people & planet

  • the social & environmental challenges are complex and interconnected

  • people want to take action and make changes to live sustainably, but do not always know how

  • many solutions already exist - some overarching and some unique to the individual

  • solutions are often over-simplified and don’t acknowledge the bigger picture (e.g. all you need to do is recycle and install LED lightbulbs).

GIN focuses on Holistic Sustainability, and asks the questions: what is sustainability and how do I as an individual live more sustainably?

We live in an increasingly interconnected global community and for the sake of resource effectiveness need to avoid re-inventing the wheel. We can do this by sharing both challenges & solutions for how to live responsibly & sustainably. Through open dialogue we can discuss how to mass-customize solutions based on differences in culture, geography & resources.
